Additional details

his self-portrait represents self image and the way one may appear on the outside, but the inside is different. This piece is from the perspective of a mirror, and both the mirror and the face are in pieces. I am looking into the mirror and desperately picking up and putting back my broken facial features, but they continue to crack and fall. My true emotions are protectively hidden with the positive face I show to the world, but this facade is brittle and is easily broken off like glass. The true emotions are fleetingly and partially revealed in puzzle pieces when fragments of the carefully constructed persona fall off my face.
